Several times during my youth, when Bob was in London on business, he would take a side trip to St. Thomas to pick me up, and drive me to T.O. to spend summer vacation days with his parents (my Aunt Mae and Uncle Benny). Those were fun trips!!!! As a child of six with my Mom, I attended Bob and Muriel's pretty wedding.(Unfortunately I spilled punch on the groom's mother's lovely outfit.) Many years later Bob and Muriel hosted my husband Bill whenever he was in Toronto on training courses for the Ontario Department of Highways, - Maple Leaf games, dinners at the Town and Country and Muriel's delicious home cooking. They attended our 25th wedding anniversary, and we were honoured to be part of their 50th anniversary celebration. Distance separated us, but thru the years our life paths would cross on family occasions - some sad, some happy. Bob's big hug and smile was always comforting.Both Bob and Muriel supported us with their prayers thru our own difficult times. We were sad that Bob's poor health would not allow him to share the joy of our own 50th anniversary. Muriel and family have lost a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. We have lost a cousin we loved. Heaven has gained an angel. We will remember Bob with love and smiles and laughter. Cousins Joan and Bill Whitehead - Bradford, Ontario

Dear Muriel, Patti and John and families, Jeff and I, along with our children Carly, Arlen and Alexandra, wish to send our deepest condolences on Bob's passing. I am very sorry that we are unable to attend the funeral-I have just started a new job and am unable to take a day off work at this time. Unfortunately we haven't seen each other in quite some time but I have many pleasant memories of our times together when I was growing up, at Aunt Mae's cottage and on other occasions.
